The Ilorin Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has made public it’s plans to hold a One-day ADR Seminar on the topic “Arbitration and Mediation for Lawyers” on the 11th day of April, 2019.
The program is designed as part of the continuing legal education series in an effort to carry out part of its set mandates as a body. The program is scheduled to hold at the NBA House, Ilorin on the 11th day of April, 2019, beginning at 1pm prompt.
Interested members of the branch are advised to register at the NBA house, Ilorin, between 1st April, 2019 and 9th April, 2019. Certificates would be presented to only registered participants. Registration is totally free and members are urged to take the advantage of the programme.
The seminar topic could not have come at a better time owing to calls for more emphasis on use of ADR in settling disputes. It would be recalled that the leadership of the Ilorin Branch of the NBA had made promises to bring innovative and educative programs to members, while seeking to assist in the administration of justice. The branch has also also set up a committee for the review of the High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2005 which seems long overdue.
